TOUR SUMMARY
The ultimate affinity tour for the active culinary traveler and Bordeaux wine lover! Our active 5-day program of wine & culinary cultural discovery includes three recreational walks through Bordeaux most prestigious wine growing appellations, The Saint Emilion Jurisdiction, Sauternes and Graves. Our Bordeaux walking and wine tour also includes an interactive wine tasting workshop, "the art and pleasures of wine tasting in Bordeaux". Guests learn the fundamentals of wine production in Bordeaux and the steps of wine tasting, and each guest will also have the opportunity to participate in an individual wine blending activity of the merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot and carmenere cepages (grape varieties). There will be private cellar tours & wine tasting "en famille" (vertical tastings also) with Bordeaux leading producers in the Graves, St. Emilion and Sauternes (see details below the day by day itinerary). Take time to explore history in Saint Emilion and shop at local artisan boutiques. Participate in two recreational, evening culinary classes preparing traditional "Bordelaise" cuisine (seasonal dishes), enjoy cocktail hour daily "Bordeaux style", and savor gourmet dining prepared daily by our private chef. We'll try our hand at French bread making with the local boulanger (baker) and time permitting we’ll stop in to visit the local "fromagerie" (cheese house)
