TOUR SUMMARY
The ultimate affinity tour for the active culinary traveler
and Bordeaux wine lover! Our active 5-day program of wine
& culinary cultural discovery includes three recreational
walks through Bordeaux most prestigious wine growing appellations,
The Saint Emilion Jurisdiction, Sauternes and Graves. Our
Bordeaux walking and wine tour also includes an interactive
wine tasting workshop, "the art and pleasures of wine
tasting in Bordeaux". Guests learn the fundamentals of
wine production in Bordeaux and the steps of wine tasting,
and each guest will also have the opportunity to participate
in an individual wine blending activity of the merlot, cabernet
sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot and carmenere cepages
(grape varieties). There will be private cellar tours &
wine tasting "en famille" (vertical tastings also)
with Bordeaux leading producers in the Graves, St. Emilion
and Sauternes (see details below the day by day itinerary).
Take time to explore history in Saint Emilion and shop at
local artisan boutiques. Participate in two recreational,
evening culinary classes preparing traditional "Bordelaise"
cuisine (seasonal dishes), enjoy cocktail hour daily "Bordeaux
style", and savor gourmet dining prepared daily by our
private chef. We'll try our hand at French bread making with
the local boulanger (baker) and time permitting well
stop in to visit the local "fromagerie" (cheese
house)

PROGRAM PRICE INCLUDES
· Full time services of a professional French-American,
program guide who stays with your group for the duration of
your program, services of private Chef and Sommelier-Conseil
(wine specialist)
· 4 nights historical accommodation in the heart of
Bordeaux wine region, private guests of our Chef and his wife
in their 19th century converted farmhouse (no hotel hopping)
with private pool.
· WALK #1: "SAINT EMILION: History &
the Wine Jurisdiction" Includes: cellar tours, wine tasting
and time to explore local villages. [Rated: EASY, flat/light
hilly terrain, 8 km/2.5 hrs.] ... Underground St. Emilion
and "Open market" (on market day) in Saint Emilion
Visits at Organic producer chateau Belair and Premier
Grand Cru Classé Chateau Angelus. Lunch at L'Envers
du Décor, the village's chic wine bar where the wine
merchants come to negociate over traditional gourmet cuisine
· WALK #2: "The Golden Hills", SAUTERNES
Wine Cultural Walk, including tours and tastings among the
following producers: Chateau La Tour Blanche, Yquem, Sigala-Rabaud
Promis and the estate from where the British Royal family
buys their sauternes. [Rated: Easy, some flat terrain and
slight hilly terrain 6 km/1.5 hrs.]
· WALK #3: "PESSAC-LEOGNAN: Gods of the
Vineyard" including cellar tours, wine tasting and pauses
to explore the vineyards and local villages. [Rated: Easy,
primarily flat terrain, 8 km/2 hrs.], Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte,
Chateau Haut Bailly, Chateau Carbonnieux

· During the program, enjoy cellar tours & wine
tasting, opportunities to meet the cellar masters, participate
in vertical tastings and much more (see specific itineraries

Brion, Smith Haut Lafitte, Haut Bailly, Respide
--In Sauternes at first growth estates of Chateau La Tour
Blanche, Sigala Rabaud Promis, Yquem, at the private estate
from where the British Royal family purchases their sauternes
--In St. Emilion at first growth estates of Chateau Angelus,
Clos Fourtet, Canon, organic producer Chateau Belair
· 2 evening, recreational, hands-on culinary classes
with gourmet dinner of the recipes we prepared and regional
wines
· Recreational WINE WORKSHOP: "Introduction to
the art & pleasures of wine tasting in Bordeaux, followed
by a gourmet dinner, wine pairings, guests will also participate
in blending wine, each guest creating their preferred wine
from the following cepages(grape varieties): merlot, cabernet
franc, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and carmenere. Private
cellar tours included and wine tasting with local vintners
will take place during the afternoon preceding the workshop.
· Participate in the art of traditional French bread
making at our traditional 19th century boulangerie followed
by aperitif (cocktail) and a traditional "casse-croute"
lunch with the boulanger (bread maker) at his bakery.
· All meals: Breakfast daily, Lunch and Dinner daily
with regional wine
· All transportation during the program
· Roundtrip Hotel transfers from Bordeaux, France
